Heywood CC under-13s cricketer Jack Morley has been selected for Lancashire under-12s.

Jack, who won’t be 12 until June, is a product of the club’s burgeoning youth set-up and attended his final trial at Ormskirk CC and impressed the team’s selectors.

Jack is a regular in the club’s under-13s and has already shown the confidence needed to thrive in the unbeaten under-15s side when required. It’s testament to the number of under-15s players we have that Jack is not an automatic choice on the team sheet.

He has prospered under the coaching of Lee Grogan, the club’s under-11s coach, and is now one of the top performers in John Heywood’s under-13s.

This year the Lancashire junior squads will have two teams for most of the age groups and these will be split into County Development Team and County Team. At this time no indication has been made in which team Jack will play for the majority of the campaign, but his first game is with the Development Team at Fylde CC on May 29 against Cumbria.

Credit also to Lee and all the other coaching staff at the club!

There’s no better example of how things are progressing within the youth teams than players being selected for Lancashire!

Captain now on Sunday as well. ( Norden Home )

How about a 25 retired and a 4 for to celebrate!.

I have to agree as the next age group up from Lee Grogans under 11.s. Lee doesnt half turn out some talent!!

  3. Excellent, well done Jack! Very exciting and you’re now a member of a talented group of players who’ve represented the county from HCC. Credit to Rob and Leslie, the club and all the coaches and administrators involved.

Hope Flyde CC are well stocked for the game on the 29th, certainly if your Uncle Alan is planning on attending!

  4. Well done Jack,

Good luck for tomorrow. I’ll be bugging your mum or dad for updates!
