Heywood CC under-13s cricketer Jack Morley has been selected for Lancashire under-12s. Jack, who won’t be 12 until June, is a product of the club’s burgeoning youth set-up and attended his final trial at Ormskirk CC and impressed the team’s selectors. The under-11s and under-15s indoor competition at Soccer Factory in Castleton this week have been cancelled – but the under-13s are still on. The 11s were due to play tomorrow night (Wednesday) and the 15s on Friday, but late withdrawals from other sides have scuppered this. Heywood’s under-13s are first up for winter coaching this weekend. They kick-off the junior winter nets sessions, which run from Sunday 20 January (this Sunday) to Sunday 7 March at Siddal Moor Sports College from 1pm to 3pm.
