Local MP Jim Dobbin was down at Crimble on Saturday to hand over the cheque for £50,000 for the new nets to the club. The grant comes from Sport England, and was gratefully received by vice chairman John Rhodes and first-team skipper Bobby Cross. After 37 years stuck behind the steering wheel of a lorry, John Fielding wants an altogether more stimulating experience of the English countryside. Johan Louw blasted a remarkable century from number nine for his Cape Cobras side in South Africa’s Super Series this week. Tomorrow night (Tuesday) the club’s Cricket Committee will meet to debate how we will vote on possible changes to the Central Lancashire League. Norden have proposed changes to the league, which involves splitting it into two divisions of eight.
