Former Hampshire player and first class umpire John Holder was a welcome guest at the recent Sponsors’ Evening at Heywood and was full of praise for the efforts of the volunteers and supporters that have done so much to improve the club. Local MP Jim Dobbin was down at Crimble on Saturday to hand over the cheque for £50,000 for the new nets to the club. The grant comes from Sport England, and was gratefully received by vice chairman John Rhodes and first-team skipper Bobby Cross.
