Heywood under-18s take on Werneth in the semi-final of the Taylor Cup tonight at Crimble. Humza Naeem’s side earned their place in the final after the marvellous victory at Walsden on Friday, when they successfully chased down the home side’s target of 148. HEYWOOD have won the Taylor Cup, the Central Lancashire League’s knockout competition for Under-18 age group teams.    They convincingly toppled Rochdale by four wickets at Redbrook in the final, held over from the end of last season because of wet weather. Heywood Cricket Club will be running junior coaching sessions at Siddal Moor in the New Year. They will be for the Under 13′s – 18′s. Under 9′s and 11′s will be having some sessions closer to the start of the season, details to follow. The sessions will be on a Sunday between 1pm and 3pm Click here for more ….

Oldham were at the centre of Hurricane Humza at the Pollards last night. Heywood’s talented paceman Humza Naeem claimed the extraordinary figures of 8-9 off five overs as the club’s under-18s bowled out Oldham for just 15 runs, winning by the incredible margin of 127 runs.
