hoptimist-500__largeHeywood CC should have another beer on the pump from this weekend.

As well as the best-selling John Willie Lees cask beer, there should soon be a new beer from the Middleton Junction brewery called The Hoptimist.

The description from John Willies is as follows:

The Hoptimist: At JW Lees, we like people who think that the glass is always half full, who think that the sun will shine throughout spring and summer and, who like us, hope that every pub they walk into will serve a cracking pint of JW Lees ale. We call that person the Hoptimist and it has inspired us to brew a special beer. Plenty of hop and a 4.4% ABV ensure The Hoptimist is lively and bursting with character.

The ale is fresh and hoppy with plenty of zesty notes and a rounded bitter finish.

So if your glass is half empty, it’s time for a pint of The Hoptimist.

The Hoptimist is a pale ale,  ABV 4.4% and is made using New Zealand Hops. It is rich golden in colour, with citrus and pine notes on the nose.

  1. Apologies to the crimble faithful but it would appear our new addition has proved too successful & may be unavailable on Sunday due to very popular demand on Saturday. Again a great reflection on the quality of the products supplied by our major club sponsor J W LEES. We hope to have the new beer back available next week

  2. I once recall a simliar tale occuring at Stand C.C. in regards one of their locals questioning the whereabout of their ale after a visit from the Heywood faithful (or one member of said faithful).
