HEYWOOD’S Jack Morley failed to trouble Bangladesh with the bat and ball as the England Under-19 side were beaten by eight wickets in the first Test at Chittagong.

England made 280 after batting first, Morley the last man to fall after being run out for a duck.

The talented hosts, revelling playing in their own difficult conditions, then commanded the game after piling up 398-9 declared in their first innings, Morley emerging with credit with figures of 0-69 from 22 overs.

England fared little better in their second innings as they made 152, Morley again batting No 11 and failing to get his personal account going even though he preserved his wicket.

That left Bangladesh with a simple target and they reached 40-2 with any real worries, finishing the match with a six.

The next Test is again in Chittagong from February 15-18.
