JOE Lovell has made a welcome return to the Heywood fold.
The man who left to return to Royton at the end of last season has decided to move back to Crimble, and has been named in the senior side for two important games at the weekend.
They go to Flixton on Saturday for their latest Greater Manchester Premier League venture, and host pacesetters Prestwich on Sunday in the last 16 of the Per-Fit 1st X1 Cup.
Lovell’s off spin and lower order batting will be a welcome bonus, with Sean Burrill dropping into the second team for the home clash with Glossop on Saturday.
Burrill regains his senior spot on Sunday, with Mikey Grogan also in that side, as Bobby Cross and Jack Morley are unavailable.
The second team also have a knockout date on Sunday when they go to Edgworth in the last 16 of the Per-Fit 2nd X1 Cup. Into the side come Steve Evans, Keelan Nugent and James Mills in place of Burrill, Grogan and Michael Witts – the latter again named in the League’s Under-14 side.

DIRECTIONS TO FLIXTON
Travel via Middleton Road to the M62 at junction 19 and join the westbound carriageway.
Continue onto the Manchester ring road M60 as if going to Old Trafford.
Exit the M60 at junction 10 down the slip road to the traffic lights keeping to the right hand lanes.
Enter the roundabout and keep right and take the third exit B5214 towards Urmston.
At the large roundabout with the monument in the centre take the second exit into Crofts Bank Road.
At the traffic lights turn right into Moorside Road passing Davyhulme Park Golf Club on your right.
A short distance further turn left into Lawrence Road then Right into Flixton Cricket Club.
Approximate distance 16 miles.
