Found these old pages from the 1993 Wood Cup final between Heywood and Middleton at Crimble and thought I would scan them in. They’re a bit rough and ready but good nostalgia. Another from Vernon, and another with me in it. From the Whittaker Cup final 1989. The second win on the trot for that team. Not many if anyone still playing now. A long time ago! (poor quality scan but can be made out)

I recognise a lot of them, including most of the (I think) 1983 Wood Cup final side, with such legends as Jimmy Porter, David Fare and Mark Wright. Andy Flower was overseas amateur for Heywood in 1989 (with John Abrahams as pro) and later professional in 1992-1993. With Andy as pro, we beat Middleton in the famous 1993 Wood Cup final, where VD Ball and Mike Kitchen played starring roles.
