REPORT BY KATE CROSS: I tried to explain to the team before the game that the game against Norden was as big as the Man City v Man Utd game. However, we were struggling from the beginning having only got 10 men.

Issy won the toss and decided to bowl first and its clear to see the improvements in the bowling after just 6 weeks. There were noticeably fewer wides and in fairness I think this is probably why Norden managed to get to an impressive total of 281. We bowled more deliveries that were able to be hit. Mentions should go to Jacob Kaye and Joe Carter for 2 impressive overs each.

Improvements could also be seen in the field with some heroic stops from Thomas Grogan and a one-handed screaming catch from Jacob.

Unfortunately, we struggled on the batting front and finished 196. Too many wickets were lost but nevertheless there was some good hitting from Jacob and Thomas Watson to get us back close to the 200 mark.

Also, a big thank you to Callum Jackson for stepping in at the last minute to be our 10th batter. I was so proud of how he tapped the ball into a gap and confidently ran to the other end.

Still lots more to learn and one more friendly to play next week. Fingers crossed for a win going into the league competition.
