Heywood under-18s take on Werneth in the semi-final of the Taylor Cup tonight at Crimble.
Humza Naeem’s side earned their place in the final after the marvellous victory at Walsden on Friday, when they successfully chased down the home side’s target of 148.
They lost to the Oldham side earlier in the season, but at Crimble, and with good home support, it should be a cracker of a game.
The match starts as close to 6pm as possible,

HEYWOOD have won the Taylor Cup, the Central Lancashire League’s knockout competition for Under-18 age group teams. Ross Zelem entertained his home crowd with a superb hundred in the CLL Under-18s defeat of the Bolton League at Crimble yesterday. Not surprisingly, because of the weather, Heywood CC’s Burton Cup final clash with Middleton was postponed today. The match will now be played next Saturday, September 1. Last night’s (Wednesday’s) Taylor Cup semi-final clash between Heywood and Royton was abandoned without a ball being bowled. However, the match has been re-arranged to next Wednesday at Crimble (unless I hear otherwise) which means we still have our chance of reaching the final.
