It’s a chance to finally ‘Get It On’ against CLL champions Walsden on Saturday at Crimble.

Both games last season were rained off against the Villagers, while this season’s clash at Scott Street was also abandoned after half of Walsden’s innings. It will be interesting to see where the two teams sit.

There’s a boost for Heywood in the return to CLL action of Stuart Moore. The former Oldham, Werneth and inter-league all-rounder will add some experience to a young side.

The seconds travel to Scott Street for what is always the toughest of tasks.

Friday night will be a fascinating clash with Norden.

Heywood beat the Woodhouse Lane side off the last ball of the Sunday’s match, and they will be gunning for revenge in front of what promises to be a hostile crowd at Crimble.

Simon Dawson is called into the side, which adds some impetus to the batting, while captain Cross is missing.

There may also be a third XI game this weekend, depending on what can be organised. Players are advised to keep themselves available for action!
