Bobby Cross played the innings of the season to help Heywood to victory over Radcliffe at Crimble yesterday. In a rain-reduced encounter at Crimble – the game started at 3.40pm and was a 23-over affair – Heywood posted an imposing target of 132, thanks mainly to Cross’ sublime, unbeaten 77. Hamish Paterson made mincemeat of Radcliffe at The Racecourse on Sunday as Heywood put themselves firmly back in the title hunt. Heywood Seconds made it a four-win weekend for the club when they beat Radcliffe by four wickets on Sunday. A bitterly cold night couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of Heywood under-15s, who were impressive in beating Radcliffe at Crimble. They posted an impressive 147-1 off their 20 overs, thanks mainly to excellent knocks from Ben Thulborn (30 ret), Morgan Kay (32 ret) and captain James Mills (30).
