The club would once again like to thank all of those that have renewed memberships at this difficult time, it really has made a difference to club finances and will allow us to properly plan for the re-opening of the club once we are permitted to do so.
We would ask that anyone that has paid directly through the bank can identify the payments as we have had one or two unreferenced payments and we need to ensure that we know who has paid.
You may well have seen that the ECB yesterday announced that professional domestic cricket will not start until at least the 1st August with recreational cricket still suspended presumably until a similar time. The only activity that is permitted is use of the artificial nets for exercise on a 1-1 basis and we will update on our terms of use of the nets after the weekend.
There was mention that the ECB is working with the relevant authorities to look at ways that junior cricket can return sooner and we will keep people updated once we have more information.
There is also separate discussion in the media about the opening of the pub industry and again we are preparing for various scenarios to safely offer our facilities when we are allowed to do so. The committee are working hard to look at all of the options so that we are ready when the time comes.
We appreciate that this is a frustrating time for everyone, but we thank you for your ongoing support and we are getting ever closer to being able to share time together when it is safe to do so.
