HEYWOOD Cricket Club teams face a hectic time featuring four games over the coming weekend (July 31, August 1 and August 2).

The first team start on Friday night with their opening group game in the Greater Manchester League’s new GMCL15 competition. Their opponents at Crimble are Heyside Hyenas.

This replaces the T20 competition due to concerns about light as we move later into the summer and the shortened format, over 15-overs-per-side, is scheduled to get under way as soon as possible after 6pm.

The senior team’s second game in the new 40-overs section, following last weekend’s defeat at Brooksbottom, is also at home on Saturday against Unsworth.

The second XI are in action the same day when they travel to Bolton area outfit Deane and Derby.

And the third team complete the weekend action on Sunday with a trip to Bury area side Elton.

The last three matches are all scheduled to commence at 1pm.
