Heywood field a full-strength team as they bid to win through to the final of the LCB KO Cup on Sunday.

They travel to a powerful Northern side, who are currently top of the Liverpool Competition with three games to go and in the hunt for silverware in the final of the league’s Ray Digman KO Trophy.

It’s a massive match for Bobby Cross’ side, having beaten Milnrow (bowl out), Ormskirk, Horwich and Barnoldswick on the way to this stage.

Supporters are reminded that there are no dogs allowed, except for guide dogs.

It is also worth noting that there is a big bowls competition on at Northern on Sunday, so seating may be at a premium.

There will be refreshments available all day and the club serve two cask beers, Thwaites and Wainwrights.

The seconds travel to Walsden for their league fixture. With the Second Division title still up for grabs should Walsden lose, so it’s a big game for Roger Smethurst’s side.

There is also a third team game, more of which to come.

All this means Heywood are having to inform the CLL they will have to forfeit their clash with Walsden in the league on Sunday, as they have committed to playing Northern after being given permission to do so. A club statement on this will follow.
