Weather Hits First Round Of Friendlies

HEYWOOD’S hopes of getting their pre-season preparations up-and-running and have suffered a double blow.

Games against Middleton scheduled at the weekend – Sunday, April 8 – have become victims of the monsoons that have hit the country in recent days.

The first team were due to travel to Towncroft, with the second team at Crimble, but both grounds have been declared unfit.

It means that the Bury v Heywood friendly at Crimble on Saturday, April 14, now becomes the first chance of an outing for the players.

And the following day brings a clash against a Lancashire Under-19s side, also at home.
