Heywood are at full strength for the JW Lees Wood Cup final (start 1.30pm) at Crimble on Sunday against Walsden.

Dale Latham will replace Adam Fawcett in the side for Sunday’s clash, with Fawcett facing Littleborough on Sunday. Latham has played in every round of the Wood Cup, and Fawcett will be a key member of the side to face Walsden in the Burton Cup final on Sunday 11 August at Scott Street.

  1. Good luck to the boys on Sunday!

Whatever happens (we’ll win) make sure you enjoy every second of the day, especially those who are tasting it for the first time!

Days like Sunday are why you get out of bed to play in the first place and why you continue catchnig practice in the rain or net as the light is fading!

Hundreds of players set out at the the start of the year wanting this opportunity and you’ve earnt it! You should be proud and pumped at the same time!

As long as you give 100%, the supporters will ask no more!

Enjoy it boys …………….. its a very special day!!

  2. well said rob, i know alot of people are looking forward to sunday…with it being at heywood aswell, it will attract alot more fans down, and hopeful of having a sunny day for it…COME ON HEYWOOD

  4. Good luck for the weekend lads enjoy every minute!

A very special occasion as a player and a day where you must savour every second.

There’s no bigger game to be a part of and even more special that your at Crimble! In my (not biased) opinion a ground made for such a big game. There’s no better place to play your cricket!

We’re lucky to have such a good side out with a good mix of youth and the odd fossil thrown in (not mentioning any names).

From breakfast to the celebrations make sure you enjoy!!

All the best lads, see you Sunday.

  5. Wish I was there for what should be a great day.
Good luck everybody and enjoy the day – but you will enjoy it more if we win – and I’m sure we will.
    Winning ale tastes much better!

  6. Driving back from France today so might only catch the end of the game if the weather is kind, but all the best for a great game, a great day and a great result …. and do not forget that there should not only be the Chairman’s Round, but also the Cricket Chairman’s Round!!!! Enjoy the day!!
