EVERY match until the end of the season assumes extra importance for Heywood’s 1st X1 as they bid to preserve their Greater Manchester Premier League status.

Heywood are third from bottom of the table with just seven games left, and the latest on Saturday sees a trip to Worsley area club Roe Green – who are just five points above them.

The same day sees a match of significance for the 2nd X1, too, at home to Royton. The Heywood side have lost their last two games and have slipped to third place in Division 4 East.

So the Crimble clash against the Oldham area visitors is a chance to regain winning ways.

The 3rd X1 have a home game on Sunday against Worsley.

HEYWOOD 1st X1 (v Roe Green, away, Saturday, 1pm): T Townsend (capt), R Cross, A Kerr, D Pawson, J Morley, R Paterson, S Burrill, M Grogan, W Hunt, A Dawson, T McQuinn.

HEYWOOD 2nd X1 (v Royton, home, Saturday, 1.30pm): S Evans (capt), C Kaye, R Bennett, M Witts, J Mills, C Hilton, J Keyworth, W Taylor, S Byrne, D Fawcett, O Thomas.

HEYWOOD 3rd X1 (v Worsley, home, Sunday, 2pm): R Smethurst (capt), M Hood, J O’Neill, M Grogan, R Purser, T Sullivan, L Jackson, C McNally, C Hilton, D Fawcett, J Kaye.
