PACEMAN Simon Dawson makes a welcome return to Heywood action on Saturday as the senior side are again hit by unavoidable unavailability.

Bobby Cross and Jack Morley are missing for the home clash with Worsley in Division One of the Greater Manchester League.

So Dawson’s comeback, after being absent for almost a month owing to work commitments, is a boost in the side’s bid to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Chris Kaye answers another comeback call, after his impressive four-wicket return in the previous home game against Denton, while Dominik Fawcett and Chris Booth also step up.

It’s the third last game of the season, with Heywood in second place (73) two points behind leaders Greenmount (75). Woodhouses are on 71, Edgworth 70, Flowery Field 68 and Stand on 63. Four teams will be promoted.

Veteran David Fare also answers an SOS as he captains the second team at Denton St Lawrence on Saturday, and 15-year-old Mikey Witts lead the third team at Brooksbottom on Sunday.
