HEYWOOD’S first and second teams have again been hit by withdrawals as they prepare for their weekend games against Unsworth.
Several players are unavailable, including vital first team opening batsman and wicketkeeper Bobby Cross, who hit top form in the victory at Winton last Saturday.
Missing for a second successive match is 15-year-old rounder Jack Morley, who has been advised to rest a groin strain. When he will be available for selection again is unsure.
Better news for the Crimble clash with former Central Lancashire League side Unsworth is the return of Sean Burrill and Wes Hunt, who missed the Winton outing.
And into the senior side for his first appearance of the season comes Dale Latham, who will take over behind the stumps, and 15-year-old Michael Witts.
Heywood will be hoping to maintain the assured start to the season which has seen them go joint top of Division One of the Greater Manchester League.
The second team facing the reverse fixture at Unsworth will again by skippered by Dominic Fawcett.
