THE latest venture by Heywood Cricket Club’s vibrant Social Committee has been deemed an unqualified success.
The Clubhouse was buzzing for a Race Night which brought together many long-standing members and new faces, who came together to have an enjoyable night out.
Lesley Morley, on behalf of the organisers, said: “It was rewarding to see new and old faces supporting the event. It was also pleasing to see the junior section of the club getting involved and enjoying themselves.
“The lucky winner of the Tricast was Alex Edwards, who picked up £100, and we would like to thank all those who supported that side of the evening and made the event a success by buying horses and becoming an owner for the evening.
“And we must mention the race sponsors, who were: Mike Law; Dennis Booth; John Rhodes; Alec Witts; Horrox, Cross and Wilkinson; Sharpe, Cross and Mann; plus the Morley family.”
The next big Social event on Saturday, July 9, is the ‘Rock Stewart’ tribute evening, featuring an act voted the No 1 tribute artist in the UK and comes highly recommended. Tickets at £8 per person are selling fast so don’t miss out!
