Heywood have secured the services of two quality pros for the big weekend ahead.

Cricket chairman David Fare has had the thankless task of trying to fill the gap left by Farhaan Behardien, who returned to South Africa following the Wood Cup second round defeat of Monton and Weaste.

This week, Heywood entertain Werneth in the league and then on Sunday play host to Littleborough for a place in the final of the JW Lees Wood Cup.

On Saturday, Heywood have as pro Cobus Pienaar, the South African all-rounder currently pro at Lowerhouse. He has scored more than 400 runs for the 2012 Lancashire League champions, and has taken more than 40 wickets.

His first-class stats can be seen here.

On Sunday, they have Jamie How as professional, from Northern League club Kendal.

Last weekend, How smashed 169 against Cumbrian rivals Penrith, and has played 19 Tests and 41 ODIs for the Black Caps.

  1. Thanks David for all your hard work. I know it is a continuing nightmare but you seem to have done really well getting these two for us,
