AN ENGLAND Under-16 side featuring Jack Morley (Heywood) and Sam Dorsey (Clifton) beat their Sri Lanka counterparts in Galle at the third time of asking on their tour of the sub continent.
England set the home side a stiff task after ratting up 245 from their 50 overs thanks to 93 by skipper Jack Haynes (Worcestershire) and 36 by Dorsey.
Morley again batted at No 11 and faced only the last ball of the innings. He naturally tried a big shot but only succeeded in giving a catch.
Then the England bowlers got to work and made sure that the Sri Lankan batsmen were always under pressure, and they finally succumbed for 146.
Morley again chipped in with useful wickets with a return of 2-35 from 6.1 overs, and Lewis Goldsworthy (Cornwall) claimed 3-17 from his five-over spell.
The final match of the tour is tomorrow (Saturday, April 1) again at Galle.
