MORLS0002JACK Morley made a decent contribution in his first match for the England Under-16s team in the first match of their Sri Lankan tour.

England slipped to a two-run defeat in the opening match at the Colombo Oval, replying with 137 after the hosts had posted 139.

Heywood’s 15-year-old protégé was given an eight-over bowling stint and recorded figures of 2-22, with three maidens.

He then made eight with the bat as the tourists fell just short.

The next match is tomorrow at the same venue.

  1. I think they lost by 6 wickets not two runs? Jack took 1-19 off 5 overs and scored 12 with the bat according to the scorecard.

  2. Well done Jack. Proud of you. Just enjoy the experience and take more wickets in your final match.

  3. Has the Club President, in his 81st year, entered the digital era ?
