PAMELA Farrar has issued a heartfelt “thank you” to Heywood Cricket Club in recognition of the fantastic result from the Christie fundraising event during the recent home game with Egerton.
Her husband Kenny passed away in the week before the game, and many of the extended Farrar family and friends turned up for the event – which has currently raised in excess of £4,500.
She said: “On behalf of my family, can I thank Heywood Cricket Club for hosting the Christie Charity fundraising event.
“We were blessed with fantastic weather, which helped boost the crowd, and I met friends past and present who made the effort to come to the event from far and wide.
“Donations of gifts of every type came in from local businesses, friends and family, and the raffle and auction proved to be very popular.
“There are far too many individuals to thank, but a special mention must go to all the tea ladies who were at the club from early morning to make the buffet.
“Also, my wonderful family who were behind all the fundraising activities. Kenny would have been so proud of you all.
“We are awaiting the final figure of what money was raised for the Christie, but it is currently in excess of £4,500, which is a fantastic result.
“Once again, thank you all for making it such a special day for my family and I.”
