TOM McQuinn’s fine first season with the ball for Heywood’s senior team with the ball is underlined by the latest club averages.
The 28-year-old Aussie paceman has claimed 49 scalps at an average of 17.9 runs per wicket, and he is set to top the 50 mark in the last four games of the season.
McQuinn’s best return has been 7-32 at Clifton and he followed up with another seven-wicket haul, this time 7-49 at Woodhouses.
Next best in the wickets taken chart is professional Travis Townsend with 27 at 21.1 apiece, the highlight a 6-7 return at home to Egerton.
Jack Morley is currently on the 23-wicket mark, while Simon Dawson and Danny Pawson have 17 apiece.
Top aggregate run scorer for the season to date is Townsend with a total of 642 in 21 innings at an average of 37.7. His best contribution has been 91 in the 1st X1 Cup competition semi-final defeat at Royton.
Andy Kerr has compiled 597 runs from 18 innings at an average of 35.1, with a best score of 88; Danny Pawson totals 548 from 20 innings at an average of 27.4, with a best of 74; and Bobby Cross has 519 runs, with a best of 85 not out, from 18 innings.
