JUNIOR0007A cracking turnout tonight, despite the atrocious weather, at Heywood CC’s Junior Registration Night.

It was really good to see so many new and familiar faces sign up for the new season at Crimble, and it was especially pleasing to see so many under-9s and under-11s keen to take up the game.

Under-13s coach John Heywood addressed parents and young players in his usual relaxed and charming manner, and we hope everyone felt comfortable at the club.

Junior training starts outdoors on Tuesday, 8 April, at 6pm.

We look forward to seeing you all then.

  1. Hi,

We missed out on the Juniour registration night. my son in 6 years old is there anything for him to be-able to get involved in or do we have to wait till he is a little older?

    Kind regards

  2. Elspeth,

The best thing to do would be to bring him to a couple of the U9′s sessions and see how he gets on, he is probably a bit young at the moment but you will quickly get a feel for whether he copes with it and enjoys it.

The first session is Tuesday 8th April at 6pm

  3. Hi, my grandson is 8 years old, would he be able to come along to junior training ?. If so…when is junior training and price per session please.

  4. Hi Frank.

By all means bring your grandson along to junior training. He will be made very welcome. It is held every Tuesday – speak with Jane Pagett who is the under 9′s Manager and Coach. If he likes it he can sign on – fee is £15 with a training fee of £2.50 per week

  5. Hi

My son is 10 years old – 11 in July and he is looking to join a cricket club, he is new to cricket and we have recently moved to the area. Is there any coaching classes that he could attend.

    Thank you
